Rustam Minnikhanov meets delegation of the Italian business community

On November 13, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the delegation of the Association of Italian Industrials in Russia “Confindustria Russia”.

Confindustria Russia unites about 150 Italian companies operating in the Russian market. The work of the Association is aimed at promoting the interests of Italian business in the Russian Federation and developing cooperation with Russian state authorities, industry-specific associations and partners.

The members of the Association are small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as such major representatives of the Italian industry as Eni, Saipem, Siirtec Nigi, Tecnimont, Termomeccanica, Unicredit Bank, Ubi Banca, Banca Impresa, Ariston, Candy, Campari, Parmalat MK, Carnelutti, Pavia e Ansaldo and others.

The Association is a part of the global system Confindustria Italiana, the counterpart to the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in Italy, which includes over 95 per cent of Italian companies around the world.

The meeting considered the issues of the development of trade and economic cooperation between Tatarstan and Italy as part of Russian-Italian relations. The participants discussed the conditions necessary for increasing the mutual trade turnover, marked promising areas for closer cooperation between Tatarstan and Italian companies.

“We have solid experience in cooperation with Italian companies. Many of them took part in our projects in the area of engineering, petrochemistry and agro-industrial complex. We are interested in further expansion of our relations,” Tatarstan President emphasized.
