In Petropavlovsk, Rustam Minnikhanov invites Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev to visit UNESCO heritage site - the ancient city of Bolgar

On November 9, at the Russia - Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum with participation of heads of states held in Petropavlovsk, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov reported Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of the tourism industry of the republic.

The main topic of the forum is new approaches and trends in the development of tourism in Russia and Kazakhstan.

A tourist exhibition was organized at the forum and the exposition of the Republic of Tatarstan was also introduced. Putin and Nazarbayev looked around the exposition and Minnikhanov reported on the development of the tourist destination in Tatarstan, in particular, on the number of tourists, expected to visit the region by the end of 2018, on cooperation with Kazakhstan and on the tourist flow from Kazakhstan to Tatarstan.

He also emphasized that Kazakhstan and Tatarstan signed agreements on the development of the Great Volga River Route project. Thus, the republic expects to increase the bilateral tourist flow between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan. The project intends the movement of tourist flow from Kazakhstan, Orenburg region, Samara, Kazan, Ulyanovsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Cheboksary and links Kazakhstan and Russia and also regions of the Russian Federation.

Minnikhanov also focused on the development of such a direction in the tourism sector as visiting of the great city of Bolgar, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Tatarstan President addressed a proposal to Putin to visit the ancient city of Bolgar and also to invite the President of Kazakhstan to assess the sights of the great city of Bolgar.
