At the beginning of his speech, Tatarstan President expressed his deep condolences in connection with the death of the first President of the Gagauz Republic Stepan Topal.

Minnikhanov stressed that today Gagauzia is demonstrating positive changes and is actively working to promote its image at the national and international level. “The autonomous region is establishing investment sites with free economic zone status and preferential taxation, attracts foreign investors to the economy, including those from Russia. We are pleased that Gagauzia is developing cooperation with Tatarstan, one of the leading and industrially developed Russian regions,” Minnikhanov said.

According to him, participation in the investment forum in Comrat will allow Tatarstan business to open up new areas for cooperation and agree on the implementation of joint projects.

Minnikhanov noted the supply of mineral fertilizers from Tatarstan, the opening of new plants for the production of plastic products in Gagauzia, as well as the creation of an e-government system in the region as promising projects.

Then he provided a brief summary of the economic and industrial potential of Tatarstan.

On the sidelines of the forum, Minnikhanov and Vlah signed an action plan for the implementation of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Executive Committee of Gagauzia on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation for 2019-2021.
