Rustam Minnikhanov holds a meeting with CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector Ayman Sejiny

On October 30, on the sidelines of the GIES – 2018, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with CEO and General Manager of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (branch of the Islamic Development Bank)  Ayman Sejiny.

Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank Oleg Ganeev, Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin and Trade and Economic Representative of Tatarstan in Dubai Timur Khairutdinov took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged their views on the issues of cooperation development in the area of Islamic finance. Minnikhanov noted that the direction of Islamic banking does not yet have the necessary develoment in Russia. At the same time, a number of structures show their interest in this form of work.

Tatarstan President informed that today, together with Sberbank of Russia, the work on establishment of an International Islamic Financial Center in Tatarstan is underway. Minnikhanov expressed his confidence that the creation of the center will contribute to the development of tools of the Islamic economy in Russia. “We hope for your support in the implementation of this project,” Minnikhanov addressed the leadership of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector.

In his turn, Sejiny said that he is ready to assist in the development of the project.
