During the GIES- 2018 in the United Arab Emirates, Tatarstan President awarded for the development of the Islamic economy

On October 30, during the Global Islamic Economy Summit in Dubai, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum handed in the special award for the development of the Islamic economy to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Minnikhanov has been heading the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin since 2014. The main task of the Group is to facilitate the process of bringing Russia with the Islamic world closer on a cultural and civilizational basis and to assist in establishing contacts with an emphasis on expanding economic cooperation and interaction of youth organizations.

The Islamic Economy Award was established by the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre in 2013 and is awarded for business initiatives and innovative ideas that make a significant contribution to the socio-economic prosperity of the Muslim population. Initiatives and ideas should contribute to strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Islamic countries and establish closer economic ties with the rest of the world, promoting prosperity, harmony and well-being.
