On October 25, in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Kazakhstan delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Askar Mamin.
On October 26, Mamin will take part in the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Before the meeting, Minnikhanov and Mamin took part in the signing ceremony of the Protocol of the 2nd meeting of the Tatarstan-Kazakhstan working group on trade and economic cooperation, held in Kazan the day before.
Opening the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan and Kazakhstan have long-standing partnerships. “Kazakhstan is the leader in a number of areas. We are interested in expanding economic and investment ties with its companies,” he said.
One of the promising areas of cooperation is interaction in the field of oil production and petrochemistry. A special place in the issues of cooperation with Kazakhstan is occupied by KAMAZ Automaker.
Tatarstan President noted the potential of cooperation in the field of shipbuilding. Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant is beginning to interact with Zenit Shipbuilding Plant, located in the city of Uralsk, West Kazakhstan region.
According to Minnikhanov, there are good opportunities for the development of close cooperation in the field of IT technologies, the production of automotive components, the development of the gas motor fuel market, medicine, the development of small aircraft, in the agro-industrial complex and in the humanitarian sphere.
Tatarstan President also invited representatives of Kazakhstan to take part in the International Economic Summit "Russia - the Islamic World: Kazansummit-2019" and in the WorldSkills Championship, held I Kazan in August next year.
Mamin emphasized that today, there is every opportunity to increase trade turnover between the countries to one billion US dollars.
