25.10.2018

On October 25, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with a delegation pf the Malaysian PEMANDU Company.

PEMANDU (Performance Management and Delivery Unit) was established in 2009 to restore the economy of Malaysia. In 2017, after solving all the tasks set by the government of the country, PEMANDU was privatized. Today, the company is engaged in consulting other countries, including Russia, in the field of developing methods of strategic state management. It has experience in working with Sberbank of Russia, the Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor), the Russian Export Centre and other large Russian organizations.

Minnikhanov noted that PEMANDU has great experience in the socio-economic development of territories. He said that there are three major agglomerations in the republic, including Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Almetyevsk. “Kazan agglomeration is the main and potentially most attractive,” Tatarstan President emphasized.

The meeting discussed prospects for cooperation in the development of the Kazan agglomeration . According to representatives of PEMANDU, Kazan financial district can become the main economic centre of the agglomeration.

Besides, Malaysians suggested introducing the practice of implementing projects in special "laboratories". This method envisages the involvement of specialists from certain sectors of the economy for identifying and solving problematic issues in a collective way.
