Rustam Minnikhanov and Hokim of Tashkent region discuss issues of mutual cooperation development

On October 19, during the First Russia-Uzbekistan Forum of Interregional Cooperation, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a business breakfast “Unlock the potential” hosted by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maksim Oreshkin and Minister of Economy of Uzbekistan Botir Khodjaev and briefed about economic and investment opportunities of the region.

After the breakfast with the heads of the regions, Minnikhanov had a meeting with Hokim of Tashkent region Gulomzhon Ibraghimov.

It was noted at the meeting that at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in May this year, an agreement between Tatarstan and Tashkent region on the implementation of international and foreign economic ties in trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural spheres was signed.

During the meeting, Minnikhanov and Ibraghimov discussed specific joint projects, including the establishment of an automobile testing ground and KAMAZ service centre, a branch of the Himgrad Technopolis, as well as the establishment of joint production facilities with Ak Bars Holding Company in the poultry industry, manufacturing of medical robots together with Eidos Company, interaction with TATNEFT Oil Company and cooperation with Tatspirtprom Distillery, the opening of mutual trading houses and the exchange of experience in the field of education, health care and other areas in the Tashkent region.

At the end of the meeting, Tatarstan President and Hokim of Tashkent region signed a number of documents, in particular, the action plan of measures for the implementation of the Agreement between Tatarstan Government and the Khokimiyat of Tashkent region on the implementation of international and foreign economic relations in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural spheres. They also signed the road map, which includes over 40 issues on specific joint projects.
