Rustam Minnikhanov arrives in Tashkent to take part in the First Russia-Uzbekistan Forum of Interregional Cooperation

On October 18, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a two-day working visit to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, to take part in the First Russia-Uzbekistan Forum of Interregional Cooperation that will be chaired by the leaders of the two states Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During his visit, first of all, Minnikhanov intends to meet representatives of the Tatar Diaspora living in Uzbekistan.

On the sidelines of the forum, Tatarstan President plans to take part in business breakfast with Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Botir Khodzhayev and heads of regions to talk on the topic “Unlocking the Potential” and have a meeting with Hokim of Tashkent Region Gulomzhon Ibragimov to discuss the development of economic and cultural cooperation between the regions.

A plenary meeting with the participation of the leaders of the two states Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be the main event on this day.

The forum focuses on agriculture as a priority area in the development of Russia-Uzbekistan relations. Exhibitions of agricultural and agro-industrial products of the two countries will be organized during the forum. Investment opportunities and promising areas for cooperation, specific projects for joint implementation will be presented during business lunches and panel sessions with heads of the regions that will be held at the forum.
