Tatarstan President holds meeting with Vietnamese delegation

On October 18, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with a delegation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam led by Chairman of the Kiên Giang provincial People's Committee Phạm Vũ Hồng.

“Tatarstan pays great attention to cooperation with Vietnam as part of Russian-Vietnamese relations. Our countries are time-tested friends and strategic partners in many branches of industry,” Minnikhanov said, opening the meeting. He reminded that 2019 was announced the Year of Russia in Vietnam and the Year of Vietnam in Russia to further develop relations between the two countries.

Tatarstan President noted that inter-regional cooperation plays an important role in strengthening Russian-Vietnamese relations. "Our republic is ready to intensify these processes."

According to Minnikhanov, the products made in Tatarstan are well known in Vietnam. In particular, they include KAMAZ trucks and helicopters manufactured by the Kazan Helicopter Plant. Moreover, Zelenodolsk Shipyard have supplied four frigates to Vietnam. “We know that there are more orders for ships,” Tatarstan President said.

Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan is ready to develop trade, economic and humanitarian ties with Kiên Giang Province. He outlined prospects for cooperation in such spheres as the production of automotive components IT, medicine, education, agro-industrial complex and tourism.

Phạm Vũ Hồng thanked Minnikhanov for the hospitality and high level of organization of their working visit to Tatarstan.

He also expressed his condolences in connection with a tragic event in Kerch.

Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov, Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, Chairman of Tatarstan State Committee for Tourism Sergey Ivanov, Board Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the republic and other officials took part in the meeting.
