Rustam Minnikhanov visits a Japanese natural sciences research institute “RIKEN”

On October 7, during his working visit to Japan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the largest Japanese Institute of physical and chemical research “RIKEN”, located in Kobe.

The RIKEN,  founded in 1917, is currently an independent scientific organization uniting over 3,000 scientists from around the world, who conduct research in 18 institutes and centres located in 9 campuses, which are a kind of mini-academy of sciences.

The institute conducts research in many areas of science, in particular, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, technical and computer science.

The presentation of the RIKEN University, work of the Scientific Research Centre of Dynamic Biosystems and the presentation of research on regenerative medicine were made for Tatarstan delegation.

Tatarstan actively cooperates with the RIKEN Institute, which is a strategic partner of the Kazan Federal University.

Minnikhanov suggested expanding further cooperation in joint research projects, internships, etc.
