Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of natural gas motor fuel market

On October 4, speaking at the 8th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of natural gas motor fuel market.

During the Forum, Minnikhanov visited a specialized exhibition of modern technologies and equipment for the gas industry. In particular, he got acquainted with the exposition of RariTEK Company from Tatarstan.

Answering the journalists’ questions, Tatarstan President noted that today a large development programme of natural gas motor fuel market is being implemented in the region. To date, over 4,000 cars use fuel gas in the republic.

According to Tatarstan President, various measures of stimulating drivers to use gas fuel are being implemented in the republic. Thus, part of the cost of installing the necessary equipment to the car is refunded.

Minnikhanov noted that the efficiency and low emissions of harmful substances are the advantages of this type of fuel. 

He also emphasized that the large-scale work on the development of the natural gas motor fuel market is carried out in close cooperation with Gazprom, which is the strategic partner of Tatarstan.
