Tatarstan President meets Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region

On October 1, during his working visit to Magnitogorsk, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovsky, where they discussed issues of further development of relation between the regions.

Minnikhanov thanked Dubrovsky for the help in the organization of the visit of Tatarstan delegation to the region and visit to the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, the largest enterprise of the industry. He also said that he visited the city of Snezhinsk in July this year and after the visit, an agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan and the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics named after E. I. Zababakhin was signed in Kazan. The Institute is developing a partnership with the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

The Chelyabinsk Region nowadays is among the leading partners of Tatarstan in interregional trade and economic relations. Cooperation is developing according the Plan on the implementation of the Agreement between Tatarstan and the Chelyabinsk Region for 2018-2020, signed at the INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg in July of the current year. The interregional trade turnover exceeded 35 billion roubles last year.

Tatarstan supplies mainly trucks and cars, buses, various tires, refrigerators, food, detergents, paints and varnishes and medical instruments, the Chelyabinsk region, in turn, supplies metal, cement and construction materials, tram cars, food and consumer goods.

During the meeting of Minnikhanov with Dubrovsky, where issues of further development of relations between the regions were discussed, the parties agreed to increase interregional trade turnover to 60 billion roubles by 2020.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the World Tatar Congress National Council Vasil Shaikhraziev, Director of the Department for Foreign Affairs of Tatarstan Eduard Khabibullin and other officials took part in the meeting.
