Tatarstan President meets Ambassador of South Korea

On September 29, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of to Russia Woo Yoon Keun.

The Ambassador visited Tatarstan during the World Cup on June 27, 2018 and had his first informal meeting with Minnikhanov then.

"The Republic of Korea is one of the largest economies in the world and has an impressive industrial, technological and scientific potential. We count on your support in expanding the cooperation of our republics as part of Russian-Korean relations," Tatarstan President said.

He noted that the leaders of South Korea and Russia pay special attention to the creation of favorable conditions for the development of interregional cooperation. The republic has great potential for developing ties with South Korea in such areas as oil refining and petrochemical industry, power engineering, engineering, automotive industry and production of auto components, IT and other high technology. "Tourism is a promising area for cooperation. We would be glad if the Korean airlines, operating flights to Europe, considered an intermediate landing in Kazan. I think it would be convenient for many Koreans arriving in Russia and the Russians planning a trip to Korea,” Minnikhanov said.

The Korean Ambassador thanked Minnikhanov for the hospitality and support provided in organizing the Taekwondo competitions and the Korean Film Festival about Taekwondo.

Woo Yoon Keun will take part in the opening of the tenth All-Russian Taekwondo Competition for the Cup of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Russia that will take place in the Boxing and Table Tennis Centre in Kazan and the Korean film festival about Taekwondo to be held in the Suvar Plaza shopping centre today.
