Tatarstan President visits the Sino-Russian Technology Park in Yantai Hi-tech Zone

On September 28, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a two-day working visit in China, visited the Sino-Russian Technology Park in Yantai Hi-tech Zone.

The technology park was established in 1998 and forms the business incubation model through sustainable cooperation with Russia and the CIS countries in such spheres as the use and creation of new materials, bioengineering, the integration of electronic and mechanical systems, highly efficient agriculture and other areas.

The technology park is a state technological business incubator. There are more than 120 small and medium-sized enterprises there. Its residents have filed more than 60 patent applications, signed more than 10 international scientific and technical agreements. As many as 800 jobs have been created in the park.

At the head office, Minnikhanov was told about the main areas of the park activity, the experience of interaction with foreign universities, including Russian universities, and also was presented an exposition dedicated to the development of local resident companies. Moreover, Tatarstan President looked around one of the laboratory centres producing vaccines for livestock.

At his meeting with senior managers of the Sino-Russian Technology Park, Minnikhanov noted the high level of work and the innovative potential of the scientific and technical complex. He stressed that Tatarstan is also paying great attention to the development of technology parks, and therefore the republic is interested in cooperation.

The Chinese side expressed its readiness to set up a special site in the park with a presentation of the industrial and innovative potential of Tatarstan. In his turn, Minnikhanov suggested organizing a similar exposition of the Sino-Russian Technology Park in Kazan.
