Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy Mayor of Qingdao Liu Jianjun

On September 27, during his working visit to Shandong Province (China), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Deputy Mayor of Qindao Liu Jianjun.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that Qingdao is China's important industrial centre. A number of large enterprises are located in the city, including the Haier Corporation, which opened its plant in Naberezhnye Chelny in 2016.

"We understand that without the support of the city administration this project would not have been launched. I would like to thank you for your cooperation and assure you that the republic will support the Haier Company. The first factory for the production of refrigerators has already reached its designed capacity. Now work to open a new plant to produce household appliances is underway. We are interested in the successful development of Haier projects,” Tatarstan President emphasized.

According to Minnikhanov, the experience of cooperation with the Haier has demonstrated the interest of a large Chinese investor to Tatarstan. He suggested Deputy Mayor of Qingdao arranging a visit of a business delegation to the republic to look into the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan.

"The economy of your city has the potential to develop. The Russian market is very large and Tatarstan is ready to become a site for Chinese companies to enter this market," he stressed.

Minnikhanov added that thanks to the will and support of the leaders of Russia and China, all opportunities for cooperation with Chinese partners at the regional level are available today.
