Tatarstan President holds meeting with Shandong Communist Party of China Provincial Committee Secretary Liu Jiayi

On September 27, during a working visit of Tatarstan delegation to the city of Jinan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Shandong Communist Party of China Provincial Committee Secretary Liu Jiayi.  

Opening the meeting, Jiayi emphasized that during 10 years of the active cooperation, Tatarstan and the Province of Shandong achieved great results in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres and implemented major projects, including the construction of the Haier plant in the republic and the signing of the agreement between KAMAZ Automaker and Weichai Power Company on the establishment of joint venture.

“We look forward to the further interaction between our regions,” Jiayi added.

Minnikhanov noted that today all conditions have been created for establishing lasting contacts and cooperation between Tatarstan and Shandong Province. He expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Russia and China for their assistance in this work.

Minnikhanov told Jiayi about the business forum held with participation of business circles of Tatarstan and Shandong. “During the forum, the presentation of Tatarstan and Chinese companies was held and the most promising areas for cooperation were outlined,” Tatarstan President noted.

Minnikhanov invited Jiayi to visit Tatarstan during the next visit to Russia.
