On September 27, during his working visit to the city of Jinan (the People’s Republic of China), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Vice Governor of the Province of Shandong Ren Airong.
He thanked the Vice Governor for the meeting and the well-organized working visit of Tatarstan delegation.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Shandong is one of the most developed provinces of China. Such areas of the economy as petrochemistry, power engineering, steel industry, machine building, textiles and agriculture are developed in the region.
According to Minnikhanov, relations between the republic and the province have a long and productive history. Shandong became the first Chinese province, which signed a cooperation agreement with Tatarstan in 2008. A lot has been done for 10 years of cooperation, Minnikhanov said. A constant exchange of official and business delegations between the republic and the province is carried out.
The Haier Corporation, which opened a refrigerator factory in Tatarstan and is constructing factories for the production of washing machines and the kitchen equipment and plans to establish an industrial park in the republic, is a practical example of cooperation.
Tatarstan President added that the another promising area is the development of cooperation with the Wanhua Chemical Company.
The meeting also discussed the work on expansion of relations in education, culture, sports and tourism.
Airong thanked Minnikhanov for his attention to cooperation with the Shandong Province and expressed her confidence that this visit will open a new page in the relations between the regions.
