Rustam Minnikhanov: Nizhny Novgorod region is our strategic partner

On September 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin.

"It is a very significant event both to Nizhny Novgorod region and to us. Nizhny Novgorod region is our strategic partner and it is very important to us that our contacts, which are very serious, develop. I have known Gleb Nikitin personally for a long time. He has a lot of experience and, most importantly, he passed the exam. He was acting governor during the year, which is very difficult. Dear young technocrats, we are following very closely the events that take place in your region, including the World Cup, and other activities," Tatarstan President addressed the audience.

Minnikhanov wished the elected governor good luck and success.

Elections of the governor of  Nizhny Novgorod region took place on the 9th of September. Almost 68 per cent of votes were cast in favour of Gleb Nikitin.
