Rostec opens Centre of Special Engineering Industry in Tatarstan

On September 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an opening ceremony of the POZiS Centre of Special Engineering Industry, at which Head of Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov said that establishment of the Centre cost about four billion roubles, including one billion of the company's own funds.

"The POZiS is the main Russian manufacturer of small-caliber ammunition for aviation, sea and land artillery systems. It produces grenades for rocket-launchers, almost all range of small-caliber ammunition and pyro-cartridges. This is almost the only production facility in the CIS,” Chemezov said at the opening ceremony.

Minnikhanov emphasized that the company is one of the strategically important for the defense capability of our country.

The project was implemented under the federal targeted programme "Development of the Defense Industry Complex of the Russian Federation for 2011-2020".
