Rustam Minnikhanov meets Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Russia Regina Veronica Maria Jones-Bos

On September 21, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Russia Regina Veronica Maria Jones-Bos.

A delegation of several Dutch companies arrived on a working visit in Kazan. They include Tebodin (an international engineering and consulting company), Philips, Nuffic Neso (an international cooperation in the field of education), TomTom (supplier of devices for automotive and personal GPS navigation), Rijk Zwaan Rus (production of vegetable seeds for area under cover), FDRL - Dutch Russian Livestock Foundation (consultancy services for dairy farming), Meyn Food Processing Technolog B.V. (equipment for poultry meat processing), C. van't Riet Dairy Technology BV (milk processing equipment), Atelier PRO (architectural company), UMC expert (medical research), Flight Simulation Company BV (training piloting using simulators) and others.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that Regina Jones-Bos and he reached an agreement on a visit of the business mission from the Netherlands to Tatarstan at the Gaidar Forum.

We are interested in developing business relations with the companies from the Netherlands, Minnikhanov said.

Then, representatives of the companies briefly told the meeting about their activities and about areas in which agreements on cooperation can be reached.

In her turn, Regina Veronica Maria Jones-Bos said that yesterday the delegation of the Netherlands had a number of meetings in the Ministry of Transport and Roads and the Ministry of Health of the republic and visited the cancer centre in Kazan.The Ambassador continued that meetings to exchange views in the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic, discuss other topics that are equally interesting to Tatarstan and Dutch colleagues are planned for today.

As noted at the meeting, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and the Netherlands reached 2 billion US dollars last year, which is 25 per cent more than in the same period in 2016. The first half of 2018 also has shown a seven-percent increase in the turnover.

Expansion of supplies of petrochemical and machine-building products to the Netherlands, expansion of cooperation with such companies as Philips, DSM, cooperation in the field of shipbuilding and automotive industry, and the establishment of joint ventures in the field of processing agricultural products are among the promising areas for cooperation.
