Tatarstan President arrived in Malaysia

On September 18, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit in the city of Johor Bahru in Malaysia, was met by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Malaysia Valery Yermolov  at the airport.

Minnikhanov is scheduled to hold an official meeting with Sultan of Johor state Ibrahim Ismail and to get acquainted with the construction of the innovative eco-city of Forest City and study the activity of the Iskandar Economic Development Zone.

Johor Bahru is the capital of the Sultanate of Johor (from the Arabic language "Jauhar" - "Pearl") in the south of the Malay Peninsula. It is the country's second largest city after the capital of the country Kuala Lumpur. Being an industrial, commercial, cultural and tourist centre, the city is important for the country. As many as 60 per cent of Malaysian foreign tourists come to Johor and pass through bridges to neighboring Singapore.
