Through Council of Europe towards on-site promotion of public life

Chairman of State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy chairman of the Committee on urgent issues of the Congress of local and regional authorities under the Council of Europe Farid Mukhametshin took part in XXII plenary session of the Congress in Strasbourg.

Head of the Tatarstan Parliament arrived in France with Russian delegation.

During plenary sessions, members of parliaments focused on urgent issues of developing democratic processes in several states of the Central and Eastern Europe, problems concerning the protection of human rights and enhancement of civil society on the European continent.

In addition, the attendees actively debated aspects of economic crisis impact on local and regional authorities and current global political and economic events.

Members of the Russian delegation expressed positions of our country regarding key issues on the agenda.

Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council offered members of the Congress studying regional experience in terms of ensuring employment for migrants.

Farid Mukhametshin believes that events happening in the Southern Mediterranean, post-crisis economic events in several European states, a need for developing information society make the problem of migrant employment a prioritized issue of regional authorities and local self-government.

Farid Mukhametshin attracted attention of European colleagues to the Tatarstan experience in this field, positive dynamics in solving problems of employment of migrants from the CIS and far abroad countries by virtue of state programs and projects of public organizations.
