Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food: As many as 130,000 hectares of the area left to be harvested in Tatarstan

On September 7, speaking at the Government House of the republic at the regional video-conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of First Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Rustam Nigmatullin, Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov reported on the progress made in the harvesting campaign.

Akhmetov said that as of today, about 1m358,000 hectares or 91 per cent of the area have been threshed, producing 3.5 million tonnes of grain, with an average yield of 26.1 centner per hectare.

According to Akhmetov, 5 of 16 regions have started to harvest sugar beet, the total area of which is 64,000 hectares this year. To date, as many as 4,500 hectares or 7 per cent of the plan have been harvested.

As for the sawing campaign of winter crops, most of the regions have completed it in the least amount of time.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov emphasized that it is necessary to hold traditional autumn agricultural fairs.
