Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Day of the Republic

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov addressed citizens on the occasion of the Day of the Republic.

“Dear Tatarstan citizens!

I sincerely congratulate you on the main state holiday of Tatarstan – the Republic Day! The awareness of the significance of the event, which occurred on August 30, 1990, is increasing every year. Twenty eight years ago the republic assumed responsibility for the destiny of the multinational people of Tatarstan. We overcame the challenges and problems of the transition period together with all regions of Russia, reached a new level of socio-economic, spiritual and cultural development, and ensured high living standards for the Tatarstan citizens.

Political stability in Tatarstan is based on the long-term traditions of inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony, well-coordinated work of all levels and branches of government, successful development of civil society institutions and is firmly guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the republic.

Building on these achievements, the republic is confidently holding the position of one of the leading regions of the country. Our initiatives are always supported by the President and the Government of the Russian Federation.

The Kama innovative territorial production cluster, the Alabuga and the Innopolis Special Economic Zones and Priority Social and Economic Development Areas became nowadays growth indicators.

We are launching unique production facilities to provide well-being of all new generations of Tatarstan citizens.

We reconstruct the roads, improve our cities and villages and construct modern comfortable housing.

We establish new educational and medical centres, where people nowadays receive high-quality education and medical service.

The recently completed matches of the World Cup 2018 in Kazan have further established the status of the capital of our republic as one of the most important centres of national and international sports.

Economic and social sphere achievements, our unique historical and cultural heritage became the basis for the unity of people of different ages and professions, views and beliefs, nationality and faith based on patriotism, sincere love for great Russia and native Tatarstan.

The established image of the republic as an area of creation, kindness and hospitality attracts more and more guests from all over the world.

On the Republic Day, we have every reason to be pleased and proud of the serious progress achieved in all areas of life.
