On August 29, at the Pyramida Entertainment Complex, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with old stagers and senior managers of industrial enterprises of Tatarstan, who have made a significant contribution to the development of the republic.
Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak and State Minister of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the event.
"The industrial complex of our republic was largely formed in the years when you managed the production facilities," Minnikhanov said opening the meeting.
Tatarstan President noted that the industry of the region has been developing in various areas, including oil production and refining, petrochemistry, machine building and aircraft engineering. "The oil industry is the basis of our economy. Today, the republic has significantly increased the volume of oil production, producing more than 35 million tonne annually. The sphere of oil refining and petrochemistry is developing dynamically, the tire production is being modernized," he added.
Minnikhanov also reminded about the 1990s, a difficult period when large machine-building enterprises of the republic faced a number of problems, in particular, the inability to pay salaries to workers. "We had a rather complicated way and managed to maintain our plants. Today we are building up the potential that our republic has,” Tatarstan President. "Each of you was a production commander. We will always remember your contribution to the development of Tatarstan. "
According to Alexander Novak, Tatarstan is a power engineering republic, with the oil industry forming a large share in the economy. "It was all laid by you. Our task is to create conditions for these enterprises so that they continue not only to work but also to develop,” he added.
