Tatarstan President: Railway transport is important for the development of the republic

On August 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General – Board Chairman of the Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov took part in an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Yudino settlement in Kazan.

Speaking at the solemn event, Minnikhanov reminded that his spring, at a meeting with the residents of the settlement, a number of tasks to improve Yudino were set. A large amount of work, including reconstruction of the street and road network, repair of facades and courtyards, and restoration of social infrastructure facilities, have been done for the anniversary.

"The solution of these issues is impossible without the systematic development of the economy of the republic. The transport infrastructure and a developed network of railways are the main component in the implementation of every major project,” Tatarstan President said.

Belozerov congratulated residents of Yudino on the 100th anniversary of the settlement and the upcoming Republic Day. He noted that this year also marks the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Railways Company.

Director General of the Russian Railways stressed that it is necessary to interact with the regions to solve problems in the railway sector. "The development of the regions depends entirely on the railway, that is, on your work," he said to the guests of the holiday.
