On August 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, representatives of Tatenergo Company, Uralenergostroy Management Company took part in a solemn commissioning of a new steam-generating unit-230 MWt at the Kazan Combined Heat and Power Plant №1.
The unit was named after the first director of the Plant №1 Ali Ganeev.
The power unit - 230 MWt is the first investment project in the electric power industry included in the federal "Support programme of Investment Projects implemented in the Russian Federation based on Project Finance", which provides state guarantees and soft loans for the projects of a high socio-economic importance for the country.
The total cost of the project is 15.6 billion roubles, including 11.1 billion roubles loans from Gazprombank. Uralenergostroy Management Company is a general contractor of a new power facility.
Minnikhanov thanked the designers, builders, power engineers for the implementation of the project in a short time.
“Nowadays, the republic is developing production facilities and increasing capacity, and only the programme of modernization of our energy facilities will help us to be competitive. We proved that we can implement complex tasks in a short time. The next project is in Zainsk,” Tatarstan President said.
Later on the same day in Kazan, Novak held a meeting of the Governmental Commission on the preparation of the Volga Federal District regions for the autumn-winter period 2018-2019. The heads of the relevant ministries, departments, federal and regional energy companies and their territorial divisions reported on the readiness of the power systems of the Volga Federal District for heating season.
