Rustam Minnikhanov: The training of blue-collar specialists should be carried out in close cooperation with potential employers

On August 23, in the town of Kukmor of the republic, speaking at a regional meeting of teaching employees, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the training of blue-collar specialists should be carried out in close cooperation with potential employers and equipment suppliers.

Minnikhanov stressed that the issues of vocational education require special attention. Due to the system of resource centres created in the republic, young Tatarstan students have the opportunity to study in modern repaired institutions equipped with high-tech facilities. Since 2014, as many as 31 resource centres have been established in Tatarstan. Over 4.3 billion roubles were allocated for major repair and equipping with new facilities. Tatarstan enterprises take an active part in this work.

"We discussed the issues of personnel training at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone yesterday. Today our enterprises need specialists in mechatronics, robotics, and electricians that meet modern requirements,” Tatarstan President said.

Minnikhanov noted the progress achieved in this area. Following the final of the 6th National Championship "Young Professionals" (WorldSkillsRussia), which was held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the team of the republic ranked second.

Tatarstan President called ensuring global competitiveness the priority task of higher education. "The innovative, technological development of the republic, the country directly depends on our universities. The federal project "Enhancing the competitiveness of Russian higher education" aimed primarily at strengthening the partnership between the higher education system and the labor market will contribute to their improved performance," he said.

According to Minnikhanov, this task can be solved by establishing basic departments of universities at enterprises and targeted training of personnel. The formation of popular competencies is of greater importance as well, he added.
