Rustam Minnikhanov meets winners and prize-winners of the final of the 6th WorldSkills Russia National Championship

On August 17, in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the ceremony of awarding winners and prize-winners of the final of the 6th National Championship “Young Professionals” (WorldSkills Russia). 

The regional team ranked second in the overall standings.

"Our task is to enhance the prestige of blue-collar jobs. Since Russia joined the WorldSkills family, a lot has been done in this regard. Your achievement at the national championship - the second team place – is very good result,”  Minnikhanov said in his welcoming speech.

Tatarstan President wished representatives of the regional team successful performances at other competitions, including the European Championship 2018, the national championship to be held next year, and the WorldSkills Kazan 2019.

Minnikhanov noted that the quality training of blue-collar workers is a priority for Tatarstan. "We are creating resource centres on a regular basis. Our relevant ministries and basic enterprises are making great efforts, because the training of blue-collar workers must be carried out taking into account the needs of the customer. We have organized this work in the republic, " Tatarstan President added.

According to Minnikhanov, young people are eagerly training to be blue-collar workers. "Our task is to equate prize winners of professional competitions with athletes who defend the country’s flag at various competitions," Tatarstan President said.

"Your success is the success of the republic! We are proud of you. On my own behalf and on behalf of the regional leadership, I want to thank you for your great contribution to the enhancement of the image of Tatarstan,” Minnikhanov addressed the audience.

Then, Minnikhanov handed in Letters of Gratitude of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan to heads of educational institutions for many years of fruitful work on the preparation of contestants of the WorldSkills movement. Members of the expert community were awarded as well.
