Rustam Minnikhanov holds a meeting of the Council regulating the sale of alcohol and alcohol-containing products in the republic

On August 15, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of Acting Prime Minister of the republic Rustam Nigmatullin held a meeting of the Council regulating the sale of alcohol and alcohol-containing products in the republic, which discussed results for the first six months of the current year.

Opening the meeting, Minnikhanov emphasized the well-coordinated work of state bodies of the republic on preventing violations in the sale and use of alcoholic beverages during FIFA World Cup 2018 matches in Kazan.

Minnikhanov emphasized that for six months of the current year, the volume of retail sales of alcoholic products has decreased by 1 per cent as compared to the same period last year. The sale of regional alcoholic products has decreased by 3 percent. However, the retail sales of beer have increased by 6 per cent. The sales of regional beer have increased by 2 per cent.

Making a keynote report at the meeting, head of the regional State Alcohol Inspectorate Zhaudat Akhmetkhanov said that the Inspectorate carried out inspections at 7096 facilities of alcoholic market, revealed 1476 violations of legislation in the sale of alcohol products and imposed fines for the sum of 23m 800 thousand roubles for viotations in the first six months of the current year. The largest number of violations was registered in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk.

As many as 21,500 liters of alcohol and alcohol-containing products were seized from illegal trafficking from January to June 2018.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov noted the need for systematic work to ensure the safety of the population by controlling the quality of alcohol products.
