On August 14, during his working visit to Tetyushy region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov made a helicopter fly over the region's fields to inspect the course of the harvesting campaign

At his meeting with the farmers, he discussed the issues of the harvesting campaign and the work plan for coming days.

Head of the region Ramis Safiullov reported on the current situation in the fields and said that 25,000 hectares or 55 per cent of the area have been threshed, producing 85,000 tonnes of grain.

Akhmetov noted that the region suffered from soil and atmospheric drought this year, but due to the professionalism of the local farmers an average yield amounted to 34 centners per hectare.

Minnikhanov expressed his hope that the harvesting campaign in the republic will be completed on time and with minimal losses.

“The year is not easy. However, we must quickly take the crop. Tetyushy region made a number of structural changes on plant growing, which positively affects the harvesting results. It is neсessary to be equally active in the development of livestock sector. You have the potential,” he added.

Minnikhanov and Safiullov awarded the best combine operators of the region on the results of the last week.
