On August 14, speaking at the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic at a briefing, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov reported that 43 per cent of grain crops have been harvested in Tatarstan, which makes 640,000 hectares of the area of 1.5 million planned to be threshed.
To date, gross harvest of grain crops has made over 1.8 million tonnes, with an average yield of 27.9 centner per hectare.
The total cost of sowing campaign in Tatarstan is estimated at about 27 billion roubles. The profit from sales of grain is expected to be up to 20 percent.
According to him, the prices for a new grain crops harvest are being established. “This year we expect much better purchasing prices for grain. Moreover, the potential for gross harvest of grain crops in Russia is from 90 to 100 million tonnes. As many as 134 million tonnes were harvested last year. The grain area is 48.5 million hectares,” the Head of the Ministry said.
