On August 6, in Gorki settlement, Moscow region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov attended a meeting held by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of the Presidium of the Russian Presidential Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.

The meeting discussed the Housing and Urban Environment National Project.

We should continue work to reduce mortgage loan rates, to develop the market of mortgage-related securities, Medvedev at the meeting.

According to Medvedev, it is necessary to ensure that every year 5 million families improve their living conditions. "We will have to significantly increase the amount of housing commissioning under conditions of the transition to a new model of housing construction financing," the Prime Minister reminded, noting that a legislative base has been created for these tasks.

We need to synchronize the banking regulation system with new approaches, ensuring uninterrupted financing for the industry, Medvedev noted. A significant reserve for the development of the national project can be found due to increasing the efficiency of land use, he added.

The Prime Minister also reminded that there is a mechanism for resettlement of people from dilapidated housing in Russia, but it is necessary to create new instruments to ensure a sustainable reduction in unfit houses. People also should not be afraid to invest in real estate. On this point it is necessary to modernize the construction industry, reduce the share of obsolete technologies and implement advanced solutions, he added.

The second national project, proposals on which were discussed at the meeting, is aimed at improving the environmental situation in the country dramatically.
