Tatarstan President holds meeting with active members of the Congress of Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan

On July 4, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting held by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Milli Shura National Council Vasil Shaikhraziev with active members of the Congress of Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan.

According to the Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, as many as 204,229 Tatars are living in Kazakhstan, 152,449 of which are urban and 51,780 people live in rural areas.

Chairman of the Board  of the Congress of Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan Taufik Karimov reported on the current state of affairs and the development of the Tatars' community in Kazakhstan.

Chairman of Youth Committee of the Congress Elina Pauli reported on the implementation of youth projects in cooperation with Tatarstan.    

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov thanked the participants of the meeting for their active civic position in preserving the language and cultural heritage of the Tatars and handed in state awards and letters of acknowledgment to the representatives of the Congress of Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan.
