Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit in Kazakhstan

On July 3, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a two-day working visit in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the city of Astana, to take part in the International Islamic Economy Forum - Astana Finance Days Forum, was met by First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia Imangali Tasmagambetov, Deputy Akim of Astana Kosman Aitmukhametov, Deputy Ambassador of Russia to Kazakhstan Yuriy Perepechenov and Plenipotentiary Representative of Tatarstan in Kazakhstan Denis Valeev at the Astana Nursultan Nazarbaev International Airport.

Minnikhanov is scheduled to have an extensive programme of visit, which starts with the meeting with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev. Later on the same day, he plans to take part in the plenary session and in the official opening of the Astana Islamic Economy Forum. Minnikhanov is expected to have a number of working meetings with authorities and discussions with business circles of Kazakhstan.

Tatarstan President will also visit Nazarbaev University to get acquainted with the best students’ projects and activities of the IT Center of the Business Campus. During his working visit to Astana, Minnikhanov is scheduled to have a number of other meeting and events.

Tatarstan delegation, which arrived to take part in the Forum, includes Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Vasil Shaikhraziev, Aide to Tatarstan President on international affairs Radik Gimatdinov and other officials and senior executives.

The Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the leading trade and economic partners of Tatarstan. The trade turnover between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan amounted to more than 700 million US dollars in 2017.
