Rustam Minnikhanov meets delegation of West-Kazakhstan region

On June 30, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Akim of West Kazakhstan region Altay Kulginov.

Minnikhanov noted that from all regions of Kazakhstan, the West Kazakhstan region is the closest one to Tatarstan. The distance between Kazan and the Urals (the capital of the West Kazakhstan region) is only 700 kilometres, which positively influences the strengthening of trade and economic relations.

Tatarstan President stressed that good relations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev contribute to the favorable development of interregional relations.

Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to Nazarbaev for attention to cooperation with Tatarstan.

Kulginov emphasized that the delegation includes representatives of the leading companies of the region. He also added that during the working visit of Kazakhstan President to Kazan, Nazarbaev said that the mutual trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan is 700 million US dollars.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the most promising areas of cooperation, including cooperation in the area of tourism, agro-industrial complex, mutual supplies of food products, etc.
