Rustam Minnikhanov approves the project for the improvement of the hill in the historical centre of Kazan

On June 7, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with senior managers of the Turkish Polimeks Company, who presented him the project for the improvement of the hill between Butlerov and Nekrasov streets in Kazan.

The project envisages the construction of a multifunctional complex "Espace", which includes a shopping center, office premises, residential apartments and public spaces.

According to Chairman of the Polimeks Board Erol Tabanca, the hill and the monument to Mullanur Vakhitov will be preserved, as they are in the protective and recreation zone under the regulations of Kazan. The park located on the top of the hill will be reconstructed to create an updated recreation area for the citizens. As for the сhess school named after Rashid Nezhmetdinov, it is planned to move it to a new location. The project of the building has already been approved. The memorial alley of the Kazan warriors who died in Afghanistan will be moved to the Victory Park.

Minnikhanov approved the project, noting that during its development, the wishes of Kazan residents were taken into account as much as possible. He stressed that the project should perfectly fit into the architecture of the city, and also suggested using more green spaces when landscaping the park.

Aide to Tatarstan President Olesya Baltusova, Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities of the republic Irek Fayzullin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials took part in the meeting.
