Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the opening of the Siemens competence centre at the German-Russian Institute for Advanced Technologies KNRTU-KAI

On June 4, at the German-Russian Institute for Advanced Technologies of Kazan National Research Technical University
named after A. N. Tupolev - KAI in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Siemens in Russia Dietrich Moeller and rector of the university Albert Gilmutdinov took part in the opening of the Siemens PLM Software competence centre (PLM laboratory).

The PLM Centre became the third joint laboratory with the Siemens company - two educational and research laboratories in the areas of Automation, Relay Protection and Automation have already been established at the Institute.

The main areas of the PLM laboratory using Siemens PLM Software are aviation engineering and technology, promising technologies and materials of high technology engineering, Laser cutting and additive technologies, infocommunication systems and quantum-communications as well as non-linear modeling of economic processes and engineering entrepreneurship.

Minnikhanov and his entourage visited the centre of additive technologies and the centre of quantum technologies at the Institute.

Gilmutdinov said that today it is the most equipped laboratory in the republic. According to him, many enterprises are actively using Siemens digital solutions - this helps to fully organize digital engineering, carry out tests and digital manufacturing and ensure operation.

Moeller emphasized that a specialized centre has a good future and this is “not the final step in our cooperation”.

Tatarstan President thanked the senior executives of the Siemens for the establishment of a specialized competence centre and offered to put applied tasks so that technologies, specialists and highly qualified personnel will be in demand.
