Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the sixth regional iftar

On May 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, members of the Government of the republic, people’s deputies, foreign consuls, representatives of the Orthodox and the Catholic clergy took part in the sixth regional iftar, the event held at the end of the fasting month, which was organized at the Kazan Tennis Academy.

This year, the organizers decided to hold it in two days: on May 26 for men and on May 27 for women.

Over 10,000 people were invited to the event.

Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil khazrat Samigullin addressed to the guests of iftar with the sermon.

The laid tables waited for the guests after prayers. The pilaw became the main dish. The menu included also dried fruits, fruits, water, juice, pastries and sweets.

After breaking the fast, Minnikhanov and khazrat Samigullin answered the journalists’ questions.

This year, the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Tatarstan, Russian Association of Muslim Businessmen and Kazan Arena Company became the organizers of the regional iftar.
