On May 25, the results of the National Rating of the Investment Climate among Russian regions were announced at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The analysis covered all Russian entities and focused on four main areas, including regulatory environment, institutions for businesses, infrastructure and resources, support of small businesses.

General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Svetlana Chupsheva noted the improved business indicators and assessments in all areas of the rating. "This is the result of systematic work at all levels of government. Finally, interdepartmental interaction, which is traditionally considered the weak point of all large-scale programmes and reforms, has improved and has produced such an effect," she said.

Then, the results of the rating were announced. Tatarstan is on the third line. The Tyumen region has topped the rating, Moscow comes next.

Minnikhanov congratulated the leaders of the rating, noting that the regions are doing a lot of work to develop their investment attractiveness. "They are very worthy leaders. We will certainly adopt practices that can be used in our region," he said.
