Tatarstan and Tashkent region sign Cooperation Agreement

On May 24, on the sidelines of the SPIEF 2018, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Hokim of Tashkent region of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gulomzhon Ibragimov signed the Cooperation Agreement.

The document envisages international and foreign economic relations in trade and economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural spheres.

Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of contacts with Uzbekistan as part of relations between Russia and Uzbekistan. In 2017, the trade turnover went up by almost 80 per cent to make 92 million US dollars, he said.

At the same time, Tatarstan President noted the great potential for further development of trade and economic relations and expressed his confidence that the signed agreement will contribute to this work.
