Rustam Minnikhanov: The Alabuga special economic zone's Corporate University gives very demanded knowledge and skills

On May 21, speaking at a meeting with the graduates of the fourth wave of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone’s Corporate University, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the university has proved to be a successful project which gives its students very demanded knowledge and skills.

The corporate university is a unique for Russia three-month intensive training programme aimed at obtaining knowledge at first hand of top managers of international companies operating in the special economic zone. Heads of the enterprises, engineers and managers of key departments, using the example of established in the Alabuga enterprises, hold practical courses for students on managing of an industrial facility devoted to planning, budgeting, construction and operation of the plant, logistics, economic production and staff management. During the educational process, each student prepares a project work and introduces it at the final of the programme.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Minnikhanov emphasized significant experience gained at the Corporate University. 

A total of 25 students from 3000 applicants were selected for participating in the programme.

Director General of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone Timur Shagivaleev told about the features of the fourth wave of the University. He said that this time all the students worked on one project - the development of a programme for the modernization of the water utilities of small cities in Russia, including the Yelabuga water utility, administered by the Alabuga. Each student was asked to study the experience of similar water utilities in one of 20 regions of the country and to enlist the support of the senior officials of the region to promote the subsidy programme of water utilities at the federal level.

The graduates of the fourth wave and the former students of this programme introduced the developed projects and reported on their implementation.

“I think it is important to recruit a team. The Alabuga builds a team that can manage projects in Russia and abroad,” Minnikhanov noted.
