Tatarstan President inspects the sowing campaign in Alkeyevsk region of the republic

On May 20, during his working visit to Alkeyevsk municipal region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov and Head of Alkeyevsk region Aleksandr Nikoshin inspected the progress made in the spring sowing campaign in the region.

During his visit, Minnikhanov made a helicopter fly over the fields to inspect the situation in the region and heads of rural settlements, investors and agricultural enterprises.

Nikoshin reported that as of today as many as 31,300 hectares of spring crops have been sown in the region.

He went on to say that the region’s energy security makes 154 horse powers per 100 hectares. “We are planning to complete the sowing campaign in the next 3-4 days,” Nikoshin added.

In his turn, Akhmetov touched upon the development of livestock breeding, noting that there are five large dairy complexes in the region. "A lot of funds have been invested in the development of dairy farming. Today, prices for milk are low on the market, but we need to get through it," he stressed.
