Rustam Minnikhanov visits the Alibaba company

On May 17, Tatastan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the head office of the Alibaba Company, where top managers told him about the company's activities.

"We are well acquainted with the Alibaba Group, one of the world leaders in the field of Internet commerce and info-communication solutions. People in our country extensively use your company's services.  Many retail goods are purchased through your online shop.  In 2016, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, I took part in the meeting between First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov and Chairman of Alibaba Group Jack Ma,” Minnikhanov said during the meeting.

"The development of info-communication technologies and innovations is one of our priorities. Tatarstan is an advanced Russian region in terms of the introduction of advanced technologies into everyday life. Info-communication solutions are becoming a connecting element and a catalyst for the development of various branches industry. We have created a world-class infrastructure in Innopolis, a new Russian city. More than 60 resident companies with a total declared investment of about 11 billion roubles were registered in the Innopolis Special Economic Zone in 2017. At first, Innopolis became a hub for the development of Russian IT companies, and then for foreign ones. We are ready to cooperate with Alibaba, including the localization of the company's production facilities in the Innopolis SEZ and the opening of a logistics center in Tatarstan,” Minnikhanov initiated the initiative and invited Alibaba representatives to visit Tatarstan to discuss opportunities for cooperation.
