Tatarstan-Zhejiang business forum held in China

On May 17, during his working visit to the People's Republic of China, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the Tatarstan-Zhejiang business forum.

Before the opening of the Forum, Minnikhanov held a meeting with Vice-Governor of Zhejiang Province Zhu Congjiu. Tatarstan President thanked for the invitation to visit Zhejiang Province and expressed his gratitude for hospitality and assistance in organizing the working visit.

At its opening, participants of the Forum were shown videos about the tourist and investment potential of Tatarstan. Zhu Congjiu, the Consul General of Russia in Shanghai Alexey Evsikov and Minnikhanov welcomed the participants of the Forum. “Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with China as part of the relations of two countries. The governments and business communities of our countries are making efforts to increase cooperation in various areas. For our part, we are ready to take an active part in these processes at the regional level,” Minnikhanov emphasized.

Minnikhanov urged to develop more actively mutual cooperation of Tatarstan and Zhejiang Province, which has great potential, and invited the representatives of authorities and business of the Province to visit the republic.

Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communications Roman Shaikhutdinov and representatives of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone introduced the investment and industrial potential of the republic. Minullina emphasized that Tatarstan holds leadings positions in the national rating of the investment climate the third year and today the republic is one of the leading industrial and agricultural regions of Russia.

In response, a brief presentation of Zhejiang Province was held for the representatives of Tatarstan delegation and targeted meetings with representatives of Chinese companies, who took part in the Forum, were held.
