On May 16, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the Coordination Commission for countering corruption in Tatarstan, which considered the issue on countering corruption work in 2017 and measures to eliminate its causes and conditions and tasks for 2018.
Minnikhanov reminded that amendments to the federal anti-corruption legislation were made last year. A number of laws, according to which heads of the regions, people’s deputies and heads of the executive committees report on incomes to the President of the republic, were signed in the republic.
“I ask you to remember that controlling incomes and expenses along with avoiding conflict of interest is an important measure to prevent corruption,” Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President urged senior officials at all levels to be highly responsible in filling in declarations.
Implementation of the regional, departmental and municipal anti-corruption programmes, the work of the regional interdepartmental group on countering corruption, training, staff development and issuing special method books are among preventive measures undertaken for countering corruption, Minnikhanov noted.
Prosecuting authorities suppressed about 2,500 offenses of anti-corruption legislation, including 980 of which are income-related.
Tatarstan President considers the most problematic crimes with state purchases, disposal of state and municipal property, violations of holding auctions.
