Rustam Minnikhanov holds a meeting of the Pobeda (Victory) Organizing Committee

On May 8, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the Pobeda (Victory) Organizing Committee on the preparation and celebration of the 73th anniversary of Victory in the World War II.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov said that all the participants of the World War II and people equated to them living in Tatarstan will be awarded the medal of the Republic of Tatarstan “For Valorous Labour”.

According to Minnikhanov, this work has already started. "I ask to solemnly award medals with the involvement of representatives of the government agencies, youth, and public organizations at the local level. We need to visit every person,” Tatarstan President emphasized.

As noted at the meeting, there are 46,177 veterans of the Russian Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 living in Tatarstan.

The meeting also announced the start of the preparatory work for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Russian Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

"The 9th of May, 1945 is the most important event in the history of our country. This is a holy day for all of us. Our task is to preserve and pass on to our descendants the memory of those days. The road map on the creation of an organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the WW II was signed. Starting from this day, the regional Cabinet of Ministers should proceed to developing a plan of activities for this event,” Minnikhanov instructed.
