Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov meets Chief Executive Officer – Chairman of the Executive Board of Russian Railways Company Oleg Belozerov

On May 7, during his working visit to Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Minister of Transport and Roads of the republic Lenar Safin had a meeting with Chief Executive Officer – Chairman of the Executive Board of Russian Railways Company Oleg Belozerov.

The parties discussed pressing issues of cooperation in the development of passenger and freight rail transport. In particular, they discussed the construction project of a new railway line from the Tikhonovo station to the Tractor station with the transit to the Alabuga Special Economic Zone. Minnikhanov emphasized that this is one of the priority transport projects of the republic, necessary for the developing industry of the region. The implementation of the project will provide additional freight rail transportation in the area of ​​the Alabuga SEZ and the petrochemical capital of Tatarstan - the city of Nizhnekamsk.

During the conversation, the parties focused on the issue of the forthcoming 100th anniversary of the Kazan settlement of Yudino, the history of which is inextricably linked with the passing through it the Gorky Railway. Traditionally, families of railway workers live here. It was decided to improve the settlement for the anniversary date, which will be celebrated in August this year. Minnikhanov invited Belozyorov to visit Tatarstan and take part in solemn events.
