Tatarstan and Lodz Voivodeship discuss prospects of cooperation at a meeting in Parliament

Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin met with Lodz Voivode Mrs Yolanta Helminska in Tatarstan Parliament on January, 18. Mrs Yolanta Helminska arrived in Kazan at the head of official delegation. Prospects of cooperation between two regions in trade-economic and humanitarian spheres were discussed at the meeting.

In the course of meeting the parties noted Tatarstan Republic and Lodz Voivodeship have much in common. Above all, every region is the so-called “driving force” of industry development. Lodz Voivodeship has long been a partner of Republic. Establishment of trade-economic relations of the regions started in 90s.

“I am so glad to see such representative delegation in our Parliament”, Farid Mukhametshin addressed guests with welcoming speech. By his words lately cooperation between Russia and Poland has become more efficient. “It concerns commodity turnover, economic cooperation, contacts in cultural and scientific spheres”, he explained.

During the discussion Head of Parliament told about Tatarstan political system and prospects of social and economic development.

Guests from Lodz are going to visit large industrial objects of Republic – JSC KAMAZ and SEZ Alabuga.

Farid Mukhametshin wished guests enjoy time they would spend in Tatarstan and efficient work for the good of Lodz Voivodeship.

Yolanta Helminska in her turn thanked for hospitable reception and shared her ideas about prospects of cooperation between Tatarstan and Lodz Voivodeship. “Our experience of interaction is rather wide. Contacts between higher educational institutions of Lodz and Kazan have been established, active cultural exchange is being implemented. We will use your experience with pleasure and we are ready to tell about economic potential of our Voivodeship”, Head of Government of the Polish region stated.

According to Mrs Helminska she was very impressed by Kazan IT-park. Tatarstan experience in the sphere of rendering state services in electronic format is of great interest for Lodz region.

Speaking about World summer Universiade-2013 in Kazan Farid Mukhametshin noted he would be glad to see Lodz students at the competitions.

Meetings of business communities of the two regions will be held within the confines of visit. In particular, representatives of Lodz company “Textileimpex” and JSC “Kazanorgsintez” will discuss prospects of business cooperation.

At the meeting Lodz Voivodeship was presented by Deputy Marshal of Voivodeship Artur Bagenski, Director of Voivode Bureau, representative on cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan Martsyn Shmaya, Mayor of Zgierz Ivona Vichorek, President of OOO “Textileimpex” Martsyn Granosik, Tatarstan Republic- by Deputy Chairman of RT State Council Rimma Ratnikova, Deputy RT PM Zilya Valeeva, Chairman of RT State Council committee on budget, taxes and finance Murad Gadylshin, and official of RF Ministry of foreign affairs in Kazan Radik Vakhitov.
